George and Edna Martindale came in 1910 to the Elk Point district, along with the Babcocks. Edna was John Babcock's sister. George's homestead was N.W. 20-57-6-W4. They had two girls - Clara, who married Ira Willis when they arrived, and Nell, who later married Frank Lambright and lived a mile and a half south of town. The Frank Lamb rights had four sons who all went to school in Elk Point. Later they moved north to Tangent, where Nell taught school in that pioneer community, and there they still live.
