TOM BARTEE

Tom Bartee and his family came to the Elk Point district from Fairmont, Minnesota, in 1911. Mrs. Bartee was formerly Grace Newson. Their first child, Eurestine, now lives in Ark, Kansas. Son Ralph was killed in the navy in 1919. Leslie married Mary Glover at Elk Point in 1927. They live in Edmonton, with seven children. Ned was killed in the Second World War. Elizabeth (Mrs. Bentley) lives in Wetaskiwin; Clayton in Quesnel, B.C.; Helen Mrs. L. Lampert) is in Edmonton, as is Harriette, and Edith (Mrs. Champion) is in Peachland, B.C.
Tom had a butcher shop in Elk Point for a short time about 1918. He and Grace left Elk Point in 1933. They settled in Peachland. Tom passed away in 1945, Grace in 1968.
