JOHN AND EMILY (PRICE) CARPENTER 
John and Emily Carpenter left England in 1905 and settled in Toronto. In 1911 they moved to Saskatchewan, in 1917 to a farm near Elk Point -- N.W. 4-56-7-W4.
Emily, the oldest daughter, married Fred Appleton November 18, 1920. They had five children -- three daughters and two sons. They now have seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Three of the original Appleton homesteads remain in the family today.
