William Chilbeck came to Alberta in 1908 with his parents, John E. and Isabel J. Chilbeck, his sister Ada, and brothers Arthur and Harold. They homesteaded in the district first known as Tyrol, later Mooswa and finally Lindbergh.

In 1916 Will married Margaret Lambright from the Elk Point area. For a while they had a homestead near the Chilbeck home. In 1917 they had a son named John; a second son named Ivan was born in 1918. About then they moved back to Grand Rapids for a year or so, then returned to Alberta where they had a baby girl who died shortly after birth and was buried in the Mooswa district.

About 1923 the family moved to Trail, B.C., where the oldest son started school. Later they joined Will's brother, Arthur, in Vancouver, Washington, U.S.A., where the family had a farm.

William died about 1958, Margaret in November, 1976. The remaining family are sons John L., of Ridgefield, Washington, a bachelor; Ivan J. of Vancouver, Washington, who has four children; and daughter Margaret Patricia Meuler, who has three children.
