These items from the Elk Point Town Council minutes were collected in the 1960s by Velma Andrishak.

Sept 24 1956 Mr Keck authorized to hire help when needed in Police duties
Aug 10 1959 Emil Krawchuk hired to help 2 nights a week as Special Constable $1 per hour
May 30 1960 Krawchuk hired as Special Constable at $175 a month to be raised to $200 to be on dty from 1 am to 5 am 4 nights a week
Jan 3 1961 James Stevens hired as Special Constable
March 29 1961 Mr Keck's duties as Village foreman to cease and he was transferred to Police duty only at $300 per month
Feb 24 1963 Decided to buy a siren for Mr Keck's car. Police badges ordered
August 28 1963 Mr Keck to be paid an additional $20 a month for car expenses
Oct 28 1963 Stevens appointed as Special Constable
Nov 28 1963 H Keck appointed Bailiff for the town'
March 3 1964 RCMP offered use of Court House free of charge for trials
June 29 1964 It was thought by some that prisioners in the Court House were being fed to well. Moved that 50 cents be paid for breakfast, and up to 75 cents for dinner and supper
Sept 28 1964 Letter sent to K Division, CMP to enquire if they have a used jail cell for sale
Nov 30 1964 Decided to write to ask for a RCMP Constable to be stationed in Elk Point
Nov 30 1964 75 cent mazimum per hour to be paid to anyone guarding prisioners in the jail
Dec 10 1964 Report heard from delegation sent to Mr Bigg MP asking for an RCMP Constable to be stationed in Elk Point
Oct 18 1965 Bid of 205 sent to Red Deer for a jail cell
March 28 1966 Decided to apply to Attorney General for an RCMP officer in Elk Point
July 25 1966 Council asked to remodel old town hall for Police barracks if required
August 9 1966 Moved that the old town hall be rented to the RCMP for $150 a month on a minimum 3 year lease agreement
Sept 2 1966 Plans and specifications for Police Barracks approved
Oct 24 1966 All members of council appointed as special constables for Halloween
Nov 28 1966 Mr Keck relieved from police duties RCMP now on duty
