FORT GEORGE MOTEL

Fort George Motel is owned and operated by Joe and Erika Bender. Built in 1975, it began with twelve units, nine for rent, the other three for living quarters and office. TV is supplied along with morning coffee. At present there are twelve units to rent since in the fall of 1977 a home and office were built. The twelve units are nearly always full.
Joe and Erika arrived in Elk Point in 1972 purchasing a farm four miles east and two miles south of Elk Point. Joe is a carpenter, specializing in building cupboards. He is much in demand and has been kept busy since the first day he arrived. Erika operates the motel while Joe is away.
They own six acres of land and plan to extend if business permits.
