WOMEN OF UNIFARM-1977

Elk Point Local No.43-01, Women of Unifarm, has been dormant most of 1977. No new plans or projects were undertaken. Membership has remained stable. The Regional Director of District 4, Women of Unifarm, is Miss Anna Mae McDonald of Waskatenau, the Alternate Director is Joyce Jendruck of Elk Point. The distance makes it difficult for Miss McDonald to readily visit this Local. She held the Annual Region 4 Conference at Smokey Lake. It was successful, with good attendence. Several of the Local ladies went.
We keep the Women of Unifarm cookbooks on hand continually, and have had good sales all year, as these contain good, everyday, country recipes created by farm women in the leaner years. Part of the proceeds go to the Local. Joyce Jendruck is our last elected president, with Irene Magnusson as secretary. We have a representative on the Further Education Council, and have a continuing concern for education, health and social welfare in the rural scene.
