PHIL'S ALLIED HARDWARE 1977
by Ron Barwick
On July 19, 1973, a new business opened its doors to the shopping public of Elk Point and district; Phil and Vicki Sheplawy showed faith in Elk Point as a good place to live and make a living. They purchased the former Beaver Lumber Co. building, and established the retail business called Phil's Allied Hardware and Variety Ltd. affiliated with Merchants Owned Consolidated Ltd.
The floor area is 1800 square feet, with additional 550 feet of warehouse space. The well displayed stock of hardware, paint and painters' supplies, giftware and fabrics presents an attractive picture to the shopper.
