Homestead Locations

From FG Miller's writings in Elk Point Homesteaders

Please ask any sources you know if these are correct locations, if the spelling of the names is correct and if there is information on when these homesteaders and purchasers of CPR land came into our area. Email or phone me with potential changes. We are just trying to make this as accurate as possible.

I have checked the maps against those in reflections 1976 and those in the Fergusson Flats book (1974) and have found some conflicts. FG was writing in the 1960s and these later books might be right but some are wrong and they set their time at about 1920 or 1930. Any other sources will also help. Ray Hellquist provided some five pages of homestead lists produced by FG and there was only one change.

As I mentioned before I am seeking pictures to add to our work. We are not adding any text as the book needs to remain FG Miller's work. Any stories that we get we can add to the website.  

Feel free to ask friends and neighbours for information but do not hand the map around until it is as accurate as we can get it. Then we will make copies available to anyone who wants one.  If there is someone in a particular area who might be helpful let me know their phone number and I will go and see them if I can.
