In the Spring of 2000, to raise awareness of the trail and raise funds for its completion, the Trans Canada Trail Foundation was transporting a bit of water from all three oceans to Ottawa, using the sections of completed trail and roads through local communities. Riverland joined in these efforts in many communities.
