Most of the early air travel in Elk Point was barnstormers coming through the area. Many of the famous came by in the early 20s and 30s. Dr KC Miller built a hanger at the first airport on the present golf course. Others joined him. They helped organize the building of the Elk Point Airport east of town in the 1980s.
