March 5/19- 500 people are wanted to attend a Grand Masquerade Ball at the Elk Point Hall, Wed. Mar. 19th, for the benefit of our Soldiers’ Home in Vermilion. Music will be furnished by Fred Keyes, Ed Boyd, and Miss B. Ramsbottom. Tickets $1.00, soldiers free, both Elk Point hotels will serve good suppers and there is barn room for about 50 teams. All are asked to take in the leading social event of the season.

April 16/19 - Dr. Fred Miller who served overseas for some two years and has just obtained his degree from McGill, is in town and will practice with Dr. F Day Smith.

Nov. 26/19-Mr. J. J. MacMahon of Bengough, Sask., had been appointed by the Canadian Bank of Commerce as manager of their new Elk Point branch opened this fall. Mr. MacMahon passed through Vermilion this week in order to take up his duties at Elk Point where contractor Walker has erected a very nice building for the bank, which by being on the spot hopes to extend  accommodation to farmers in the Elk Point District who have been hampered by distance in their banking business.
