COMMUNICATION 1reftext77_30.gif

Like transportation, communication has always played an important and special part in Canadian history. Because of the vast land and relatively small population, communication has been vital to Canada's development as a nation. This fact is nowhere more evident than in Elk Point and the surrounding area. The development of communication in this area includes the establishment of the telegraph line, followed by an organized mail service and finally by a telephone service.
