This preliminary information was gathered in the 1960s from Elk Point Town Council minutes by Velma Andrishak.

Sept 30 1955 Canadian Utilities installed Mercury Vapor lamps on Main Street
  and converted the present 39 street lights to 2500 lumes
Aug 13 1956  M Kovach's bid to build sidewalks accepted
June 25 1955  Water tower painted
1956 Old school building purchase from St Paul SD to be Town Office
  Old Office to be turned of to Fire Hall
Jan 25 1960 Typewriter bought fot town hall
Junne 28 1963  Telephone line extedned to Lindbergh
   
June 28 1963 Decided to buy a 10 HP tractor and snow blower
April 26 1965  Late closing changed to Friday night instead of Saturday
